went to the zoo with ren hui, francis, darren, mag, chong feng and ren huis colleagues today coz its ren huis birthday today!! anyway, it was quite fun. just that it was terribly hot!! (think the zoo must be the warmest area in Singapore). but it was not that bad coz both mag and i brought portable fans! =)) we were super smart can?? but people like francis and chong feng kept trying to keep the fans for themselves. -.- ren hui said it was super easy to know when mag and i were approaching because she could hear the buzzing of the fans.

slight digression: i dont understand why i didn’t see anybody else using a portable fan. i think it rawked and bet everyone who saw our fans was probably envious. if i have to start a business, i will sell portable fans in zoos and sentosa. (sentosa, second warmest part of Singapore.)

anyway, as some people already know, the zoo does provide tram services (if you pay an extra $5) and the zoo has like zebra crossings (which are painted to really look like zebra prints) everywhere. one time, we were walking along the road, a tram was approaching and the zoo-keeper was trying to get everyone to move to the sides of the road to allow the tram to pass. i attempted to pull mag to the sidewalk since the tram was nearing us. instead of hurrying to the sides, she just stood there and said quite loudly, ‘its a zebra crossing leh!!!’. The zoo-keeper looked at her, amused. shes damn funny! i was like, ‘having a zebra-crossing means you can stand in the middle of the road and block a tram la??’

when we went to the reptile section, we saw this really puny snail that francis and chong feng said was mag’s relative. LOL. Then we went to view the snakes and everything. we saw these 2 snakes (can’t remember which breed they belonged to) behind the glass. mag was admiring them and said, ‘this colour will look very nice on shoes!’ (sounds like cruella de ville in '101 dalmatians') and the ang-moh beside her laughed. haha. then i went to tell everyone else what mag said and how the ang-moh reacted. i know i was super mean. but karma really exists. the phrase ‘what goes around comes around’ is damn true.

we proceeded to view another breed of snake and i noticed a small animal (a mouse or something?) behind the glass with a sleeping snake, served as its food. (think all snakes sleep 23 hours a day. all the snakes there were sleeping!). that poor animal was just lying there, motionless. being CONCERNED, i asked them, ‘is it (the small animal) dead or is it sleeping?’ in case, the zoo was cruel enough to let the animal be bitten up alive right?? then these 2 stupid kids beside us LAUGHED! they laughed at ME! -.- later i learnt from chong feng that after i had walked away (embarrassed), one of the children told the other, ‘its dead.’. chao turtle. then, mag laughed at me saying stuff like, ‘you got mocked at by little children! they must be thinking if they were too smart or you were too dumb!’

but well, overall, the trip was quite fun! mag wanted to be all the animals she saw. for example, we saw a camel, and she said she wanted to be a camel. then we saw a lama and she said she wanted to be one too so she could have long eyelashes like the lama. and the same went for every animal until we saw the baboon. she said she would kill herself the next day if she ever turns into a baboon because ‘baboons are super ugly’.

loves pretty things
